With our observance of Trinity Sunday this morning, we bring the Christian year to a kind of a climax, and we prepare to settle into the long season between now and Advent, during which there are no so-called “strong seasons” like Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter. A little refresher in the Christian calendar might do.

It’s Pentecost. We’ll understand it better if we locate this event in its narrative Gospel context. And, where better to start than at the beginning.
