Embry Hills UMC voted to become a Reconciling Congregation on April 24, 2016. Since then we have continued to work towards the ethos of the Reconciling Ministries Network:

Our Focus
We celebrate that LGBTQ+ persons are a good expression of God’s diverse creation and exist to advocate for the affirmation of all of God’s children in the Church and the world.

Our Mission
We are committed to intersectional justice across and beyond the United Methodist connection, working for the full participation of all LGBTQ+ people throughout the life and leadership of the Church.

Our Vision
We envision a transformed Church that ensures justice, equity, and dignity for all of God’s children in their diverse intersecting identities.

We meet periodically throughout the year to do service projects with Lost-n-Found, as well as collecting items for them each month. Lost-n-Found is an organization that provides short-term housing in group homes for young LGBTQ+ adults aged 18-25. Lost-n-Found also provides clothing and toiletries, meals, and job training to help these young adults be able to support themselves and find permanent housing. We are proud to partner with an organization that is doing such great work in our community.

We also hold RMN services and events at our church, as well as participating in the Atlanta AIDS Walk, PRIDE Atlanta & Doraville, and working booths at our North Georgia Annual Conference.

If you would like to be added to the mailing list for more information about meetings, and activities both within our church and in the North Georgia UMC, please contact Audrey Gargiullo.
