An intergenerational group that started during Covid for fellowship. No expectations, flexible, and lots of fun. An email is sent early in the week to let everyone know where dinner will be. Anyone and everyone welcome! Contact Lori Cora to be added to the distribution list.
We seek to connect and nurture women through Christian spiritual formation, leadership development, creative fellowship and education so that they can inspire, influence and impact local and global communities. United Women in Faith works for justice through compassionate service and advocacy to change unfair policies and systems that harm women, children and youth. Contact Lisa Jones for more information.
We have several men’s groups at Embry Hills UMC that enjoy fellowship and service in our community. Every other week a group of men meet for breakfast at various restaurants around town to pray and keep up with one another. In the evenings there is a men’s study group that uses a variety of materials to discuss modern issues facing men and their faith. All are welcome to join and be a part of building one another up in a judgment-free environment. For more information please contact Rev. Dr. Jordan Thrasher.
This small prayer group meets via Zoom on Wednesdays at noon for about 45 minutes. There is shared liturgy, personal and communal prayers, and silent reflective prayer. Each week participants are able to volunteer to participate in various ways. This is a time for both prayer and reflection in the middle of our busy weeks, and the prayer concerns shared are both personal and global in nature. If interested, please contact Kim Hepler who will share the Zoom invite. We would love to have you join us.
All are welcome to enjoy fellowship with friends, old and new, during a catered meal following a short program every second Tuesday of every even numbered month. Programs vary from theology to history to music to traveling. For more information, please contact Hugh Dance.
Music Ministry
Music at Embry Hills plays a vital role not just in worship, but in the life
of the Church. Our Church has a rich heritage of wonderful music
represented by a multitude of groups that minister in worship,
Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Church events.
Our Chancel, Children's, and Adult Bell Choirs welcome new members on a regular basis. We look forward to helping you use your talent for the glory of the Lord! Our talented music staff has the education and experience
to provide a challenging environment for your musical skill level, and our mission is to empower individuals to be the best they can be in their music ministry to glorify God through music. Reach out to Dottie Hunt to learn more!
CONNECT IN THE COMMUNITY
Embry Hills proudly partners with community groups serving a variety of ages and needs. We hold space for English for Successful Living and recovery groups
as well as Scouts. Find connection through one of our amazing community partners listed below.
EHUMC is pleased to support three Scouting programs for boys and girls. Scouting is one of the oldest youth organizations in the United States, where young people can participate in various outdoor activities like camping, hiking, community service, and much more!
We aim to teach young people character development, citizenship training, leadership, and mental and physical fitness.
During our weekly meetings, we learn and grow our outdoor skills, complete service projects in the community, practice leadership, and have a ton of fun. Our older scout units camp monthly, including a full week of summer camp and a major high adventure trip each year. Our Cub Scouts camp twice a year and meet as a large group monthly.
We aim to teach young people character development, citizenship training, leadership, and mental and physical fitness.
